This art exhibition with live music is on November 8 and 9 at Fulton Street Collective at 1821 W. Hubbard St, Chicago, IL. The show is produced by the Jazz Institute of Chicago and curated by Raymond A. Thomas. I’ll be one of over 25 Chicago artists presenting.

STATEMENT BY RAYMOND A. THOMAS
Dear Jazz is a vibrant and immersive art exhibition and concert that pays tribute to the soulful legacy of jazz music. Through a dynamic collection of visual works by some of Chicago’s top artists, this exhibition captures the rhythm, improvisation, and emotional depth that have defined jazz throughout history. These works acts as a heartfelt "love letter" to the genre, interpreting the essence of jazz’s sound, spirit, and cultural significance. Drawing inspiration from the greats like Miles Davis, John Coltrane, Billie Holiday, and many more, these chosen artists explore the themes of freedom and innovation that jazz embodies, reflecting its role as both a musical and cultural force. Dear Jazz invites all on a multisensory journey through the history, present, and future of jazz. It celebrates the way jazz transcends sound to become a universal language of expression, spontaneity, and joy.
The Love for Art and Music
The love for art and music is deeply rooted in human nature. These forms of expression allow individuals to communicate thoughts and emotions that may be difficult to articulate verbally. The beauty of a painting or the melody of a song can evoke strong feelings of joy, nostalgia, or even sadness, creating a profound connection between the creator and the observer.
The benefits of art and music are vast, ranging from improved mental health to enhanced emotional well-being. The love for these expressive forms stems from their ability to transcend language and connect people on a deeper level. Whether you are an artist, musician, or simply an appreciator of the arts, the impact of art and music on our lives is undeniable.
